The Rosenstiel School, CIMAS, and the NOAA laboratories are all located in close proximity on Virginia Key, a few miles east of the coast and the city of Miami.
Travelers will generally arrive at Miami International Airport. Exit the airport to Le Jeune Road (SW 42nd Avenue) heading south 0.6 miles to Route 836 East. Proceed 4.0 miles to I-95 SOUTH (exit on right side). On I-95 go 2.7 miles to the exit marked “Rickenbacker Causeway, Key Biscayne”. Proceed about 0.3 miles to the Causeway entrance.
If you miss the Rickenbacker exit, you will shortly find yourself on US 1-South Dixie Highway. In order to turn around, stay on the left, take a left on SW 17 Ave, to South Bayshore Drive, then another left which will take you back to the toll plaza.
The entrance to the School is located at a traffic light on the west side of Bear Cut Bridge, shortly after you pass the Miami Seaquarium. Visitors parking is located immediately to the left of the gated entrance, behind the guard house.
CIMAS is located on the extreme far side of the campus. The best way to get to CIMAS is via the Dougherty Marine Science Center (MSC). Follow signs to the MSC-Smith Commons where the School cafeteria is located. To the left of the entrance to the Commons is an elevator. Take this to the third floor. Follow the signs to CIMAS.
If you have any questions about locating CIMAS, call (305) 421-4159.
